Here’s a recipe for a sugar-free energy snack along with the health benefits of its ingredients:

Sugar-Free Energy Snack Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almonds (or any nuts/seeds of your choice)
  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (such as almond butter or peanut butter)
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Add-ins:

  • Unsweetened dried fruits (e.g., cranberries, apricots)
  • Unsweetened dark chocolate chips
  • Protein powder
  • Ground flaxseeds

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, pulse the almonds until finely chopped (but not too fine, you still want some texture).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped almonds, shredded coconut, chia seeds, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Add the nut butter, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  4. If desired, fold in any optional add-ins such as dried fruits, dark chocolate chips, or protein powder.
  5. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Once all the mixture is rolled into balls, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the balls to firm up.
  7. Store the energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
